The Platform I Chose Not to Add to Believe Media ...

I’ll be honest… I was going to offer TikTok.

I looked at it properly, I considered adding it into my packages, I thought about how it could fit into what I already do.

Because let’s face it, TikTok is everywhere!

But the more I sat with it, the more I realised something didn’t quite align and I couldn't get past that!

Yes, TikTok Can Work

Let’s not ignore the obvious.

People do jump on trends, people do buy from TikTok. And yes businesses can blow up overnight.

I’ve even seen local businesses benefit massively… A chicken shop going from quiet to queues down the street because of one video?
It happens.

But here’s the question we need to ask…

Is that the norm or the exception?

Because viral success is powerful, but it’s also unpredictable, and for most businesses it’s not a strategy you can rely on.

Especially for Local Businesses!

If your business relies on ...

  • Local customers

  • Consistent bookings

  • Building trust over time

Then going viral to a broad audience doesn’t always translate into real results.

You might get ...

  • Views from all over the country (or world)

  • Engagement from people who will never become customers

And suddenly you’re busy creating content … but not necessarily growing your business in a meaningful, sustainable way.

It’s Also More Work (Not Less)

This is a big one for me, especially when it comes to my clients.

TikTok requires ...

  • Constant recording

  • Jumping on trends quickly

  • Being reactive

  • Showing up in real time

And the truth is … That’s a lot to expect from busy business owners.

Most of my clients don’t have time to film multiple clips a day, keep up with trending sounds and re-record content to stay relevant

And I’m not here to add pressure, I’m here to remove it!!!

“But Can’t You Just Schedule It?” Yes, You can schedule TikTok content.

But scheduling isn’t really where TikTok shines.

Unlike Instagram or Facebook where content builds over time, messaging deepen and stories create connection, TikTok is much more about what grabs attention right now.

It’s fast, it’s immediate and often, it’s consumed and gone, which means the strategy behind it is completely different.

My Honest Take on TikTok

For the right person, TikTok is brilliant.

If you enjoy being on camera, can show up regularly and spontaneously, want to build visibility quickly and are happy to experiment - then it can absolutely work for you.

But for the businesses I work with it often becomes another thing to keep up with, another pressure, another layer of noise - instead of something that actually supports growth.

Why I Chose Not to Offer It

This wasn’t about saying “no” to TikTok. It was about saying yes to what works best for my clients.

And what works best is clear messaging, consistent content, strong foundations and a sustainable strategy. Because when those things are in place … you don’t need to hope to go viral!

For most small businesses - TikTok isn’t wrong, but it’s also not essential.

And just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s right for your business.

If you’re currently feeling the pressure to “be on TikTok”, ask yourself this first, is this supporting my business or distracting me from what actually matters?

If you want help building a strategy that actually fits your business (without the overwhelm), that’s exactly what I do.
